Vogels lab is within the Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour (CNCB), an autonomous research centre embedded in the stimulating world of the University of Oxford. It is supported by a Strategic Award from the Wellcome Trust and the Gatsby Charitable Foundation.
The aim of the CNCB is to understand how intelligence emerges from the physical interaction of nerve cells. Towards this goal, CNCB provides and utilises cutting-edge core infrastructure in genetics, neuro-anatomy, optics and behaviour, and houses more than 70 scientists at levels from graduate students to assistant professors and established research group heads. Currently the centre houses the groups of Professors Gero Miesenböck, Scott Waddell, Martin Booth and Stephen Goodwin, Korneel Hens and Tim Vogels.
